This wine was first made to help out local growers - mates - who had lost their contracts with big corporate wineries at the start of the wine glut.
John Glaetzer & Bill Potts couldn't let the quality Langhorne Creek fruit go to waste and along with it, their friends livelihoods. Hence the beginning of the Gipsie Jack Wine Company and the very first wine in the range, Gipsie Jack The Terrier Shiraz Cabernet.
The Gipsie Jack The Terrier Shiraz Cabernet 2016 is deep red in colour and has some lifted floral, chocolate and dark fruit characters. It also shows some red fruit which compliments the Christmas cake like complexity and the slight mint, spice, and savoury notes. The palate is layered with dark fruits, savoury vanilla oak & a touch of spice, with fine tannin that sees the wine finish soft round, rich and silky.
The Gipsie Jack The Terrier Shiraz Cabernet 2016 represents the most common thread between the Gipsie Jack family. Not just the superior quality grapes grown in and around this majestic little town but the people from the region and the sense of mateship and community spirit which runs deep in their veins.
